Mehdipatnam is a major suburb in Hyderabad, India. It provides connectivity to the Rajiv Gandhi Intl. Airport through PV Narasimha Rao Elevated Expressway Corridor from major suburbs like Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Kukatpally, Nampally, Musheerabad etc.

It is 12 km away from the IT corridor of Gachibowli and Madhapur.


Commercial area

Mehdipatnam is the centre for shopping for many suburbs and villages. There is a vegetable market, Rythu bazaar here, making a good addition for vegetable shopping.

There are some popular restaurants serving Hyderabadi food like Sarvi Bakers etc. But the choice multiplies at a neighboring suburb Yusuf Tekdi, with restaurants like Mandar, 4 Seasons, Niagara, and Siddiq Kebab Center.

There are many shop for Cloth's on the main road like Chandana Bros., MAKS Collection, Kumar's , Fantoosh etc.,

The suburb is at its best during the Holy month of Ramzan, when the local hotels dish out haleem.
Transport

Mehdipatnam has a APSRTC bus depot, making it a hub of many buses bound to all parts of the city.

The closest MMTS Train stations are at Nampally and Lakdikapool.

Religious places
Azizia Mosque

Azizia Mosque, the main Islamic Center of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and Students Islamic Organisation of India is a beautiful and the largest mosque in Mehdipatnam. It consists of four floors with Wuzu Khana (Place of Ablution) at every floor. It witnesses a crowd of more than 7000 during Ramadan. Worshipers come from near and far to worship here. Worshipers consist not only of Indians but also Arabs, & Turkish. The Friday sermons delivered in this mosque are based on editorials in English dailies.[1]
Khaja Gulshan Mosque

It is a centre of Ahl-e-sunnath ul Jamaat. It has a beautiful dome and minaret. The dome is beautifully lit during the holy month of Ramadan making it the centre of attraction. It is very big.
Masjid-e-Gumbad

Located in the Ayodhya Nagar colony. This mosque is currently under construction. Construction of the mosque started in early 2006. The land was subject to legal hassles before the construction took place. People used to pray on the barren land without any roof or covering 5 times a day battling the extreme heat of summers, rains and the winter. The area consists of a dome shaped mausoleum dating back many years. The ongoing plan includes construction of 4 tall minarets and a large dome. The construction is likely to be completed by 2010.

Sri Raja Rajeswari Temple:

It is a famous temple of the goddess Sri Raja Rajeswari which is nearby St Ann's College.

Chilukuru Balaji Temple It is not near but well connected from Mehidipatnam by Bus/Auto.This temple is very famous in hyderabad and known as Telangana Thirumala .Lord Balaji is famous as Visa Venkateswara.
