Punjagutta is an important commercial & residential area in the west zone of Hyderabad, India. Punjagutta has grown to be a major transit point for traffic going towards Ameerpet, Banjara hills, Somajiguda and Khairtabad; all important areas of the city of Hyderabad. The new twin flyovers across the road junction are helping ease the traffic flow.


Commerce

Many commercial establishments have come up in this area. Big malls such as the Hyderabad Central, Home town,BrassLeaf(Complete Fashion store for Men) and many others are present here. The PVR Cinemas a well known theater is present in Hyderabad Central mall. There are many Jewellery shops along the junction towards Somajiguda circle. Punjagutta being a centre for traffic going towards faces heavy traffic-jams especially during the evening hours. The new flyovers have eased the traffic to a certain extent. The Punjagutta police station at the crossroads is a well known landmark. NIMS, a famous government hospital is located here.

Transport

The buses run by APSRTC connect Punjagutta to all parts of the city. There is also a mini-bus service called Setwin service. The closest MMTS Train station is at Begumpet.BSNL office is situated in durganagar colony
